Welcome to
Korzynski Bespoke Materials Laboratory (KBML)
Tailored Material design and synthesis for cutting-edge applications
KBML members apply the principles of traditional molecular synthetic inorganic chemistry to push the frontiers of metal-organic framework (MOF) synthetic elaboration. These porous materials are remarkable playgrounds for synthetic chemists due to their atomically precise structure and the presence of both inorganic and organic components that can be engaged in a controlled reactivity akin to solution-based chemistry. KBML members leverage those properties to advance the fundamental understanding of inorganic chemistry, explore novel reactivities, as well as generate tailored functional materials for state-of-the-art applications such as long-term information storage and catalysis.
Laboratory Values
The University of Toronto Mississauga boasts an extremely diverse body of students and staff.
KBML proudly operates within this environment providing rigorous training and equitable mentoring in an inclusive work environment.
Our decentralized recruitment policies rely on collective input from all team members to remove implicit biases in hiring decisions. We strive to evaluate candidates holistically, recognizing that systematic barriers can affect certain performance metrics (e.g., grades). We are also committed to promoting minorities in STEM.
KBML members work together to elevate and support each other personally and professionally with a no tolerance policy for any form of harassment or discrimination.
